ISM, Inc. to Host "Wired and Wireless - Concerns and Solutions Seminar"

Vendor Participants: Lancope and AirDefense
User Participants: University of Pittsburgh and HJ Heinz

Rockville, MD - November 30, 2007 - Every company has concerns about the security of their networks. No longer can this concern be limited to just the wired networks. Learn more about just how two key solutions available for wired and wireless security work together to assure the security that you require for your networks. Please join us for this informative 1/2 day seminar. Have lunch on us and discuss your needs with peers and engineers. Coffee and Danish for the early birds!

The two companies represented at this seminar are an example of the high caliber of resources we bring to the market. We are honored to have two of the area customers of these products speak to you today. We have always felt that peer adoption of solutions is the best testimony to the value of the products offered.

User speakers include Matt Tolbert from the University of Pittsburgh, who will share his experience with Lancope's StealthWatch, and Alex Pishgo from HJ Heinz, who will discuss his experience and plans for the AirDefense product.

Lancope's StealthWatch Network Behavior Analysis: Increasing Visibility across the Network
Can you see what is actually happening on your network, when and by whom? Can you detect threats that bypass traditional security technologies? Do you have difficulty pinpointing network performance problems? Are you leveraging already resident flow data to improve the security and performance of your network?

Never has it been more critical for network and security managers to gain deep insight into the traffic flowing throughout their network. Whether the issue is difficulty diagnosing the source of network problems, demonstrating increased regulatory demands or identifying more stealthy, targeted attacks, organizations can improve network and security coverage by leveraging NetFlow/sFlow/IPFIX from their existing network infrastructure.

The combination of NetFlow/sFlow/IPFIX and Lancope's StealthWatch System - the mostly widely used Network Behavior Analysis (NBA) solution - can help you improve network security and performance by:

-Providing real-time visibility into both network and host-based traffic on your WAN

-Isolating the root cause of problems on the network

-Closing security gaps left open by policy- and signature-based technologies

-Proactively monitoring for threats impacting network and application availability

-Promoting network performance and availability

To learn more about sFlow/NetFlow/IPFIX and gain further insight into both isolating and resolving your security gaps and network performance problems, please join us for this informative Lancope seminar.

AirDefense
Wireless technology is exploding in popularity. Businesses are not only migrating to wireless networking, they are steadily integrating wireless technology and associated components into their wired infrastructure. The demand for wireless access to LANs is fueled by the growth of mobile computing devices and a desire by users for continual connections to the network without having to "plug in." This explosion has given momentum to a new generation of hackers who specialize in inventing and deploying innovative methods of hijacking wireless communications. Hackers armed with MDK2, Aircrack-ng, Karma phishing attacks, Scapy, and other new tools are launching attacks on networks that a year ago were said to be unbreakable. Also, another challenging and widespread issue is the increase in rogue wireless devices like soft APs, wireless-enabled laptops, and neighboring wireless networks that may bleed over, combining hostile rogues with friendly or unconnected devices.

However wireless LANs can be secured with a plan and proven layers of security. This discussion will provide best practices to network executives and security managers on how to confidently deploy and secure their wireless network and protect against security threats, rogue devices and policy violations.

The presentation will include:

-Most common WLAN risks

-Demonstration of common WLAN attacks

-How to mitigate security risks

-Implementing a layered approach to security

-Benefits of implementing wireless intrusion prevention systems

To learn more about how you can enjoy the value and benefits of wireless networks while assuring the security and integrity of your data in both the wired and wireless space of your company, please join us for this informative seminar.
